The optional mobile module for SM-Plus means field personnel can stay connected and productive. Using Microsoft Windows Mobile Pocket PC-based PDAs, they can maintain access to vital information--such as parts inventory, unit configuration, maintenance history and warranty status--and update incident reports as well as track labor/time and material expenses.
SM-Plus Mobile helps companies outfit their technicians with mobile devices, such as handheld wireless devices and laptops. As a delivery mechanism, it bridges the costly gap between the field and the back office, improves operating efficiencies and leads to increased corporate wealth and stakeholder value. Customers expect faster and more efficient service order resolution. Faster response times and more first-call resolutions are the building blocks of increased field echnician productivity. When field technicians have access to information concerning parts inventory, unit history, and repair instructions, there is a fundamental shift in productivity gains. Online or even synchronized access of information minimizes service order documentation and operational delays normally experienced with a manual process.
SM-Plus Mobile minimizes the time spent on service order resolution and billing processes, improving overall operational efficiencies throughout the service delivery

Design and Deploy Custom Screens
The ability to create and modify forms for both laptop and handheld devices is supported through a user editing tool. As screen real estate is limited on most mobile devices, the designer can be used to build/edit forms so that technicians are only presented information pertinent to their job.
As new forms are created with the Mobile Forms Designer, they are quickly deployed to the mobile technician through the same synchronization process that is used to move data between the back office and the mobile device. This enables an organization to quickly make changes to forms or processes and update remote technicians without requiring them to send in or swap out devices.
The list of data fields which are available to the SM-Plus Mobile Application from the host application is now expandable. The UET Management screen within the Mobile Forms Designer provides the ability to extend existing data structures within the Mobile application to download (and sometimes upload) additional fields from the back office.
To ensure technicians are utilizing the latest version of the mobile application, SM-Plus Mobile can be configured to check the local server each time it is launched for a new version of the application. If one is found, the user is notified and the new version can automatically be downloaded and installed.
If extra training or support for the customized forms is desired, the Mobile Forms Designer can connect to any published SM-Plus Mobile Forms Database. This allows a remote developer or support person to work directly with the SM-Plus users forms. This is also a benefit to companies which decide to outsource form development
